About the Event

Does your ASD child or client have trouble sleeping? Perhaps they find it difficult to fall asleep, or they wake up several times at night. About 80% to 85% of children on the spectrum experience sleep disturbances, which can lead to irritability, hyperactivity, mood swings, and other challenges. Addressing underlying reasons — including gastrointestinal disorders and disintegrated primary reflex patterns — can help optimize their sleep patterns and improve overall central nervous system regulation.

As the mother of a child with ASD, Raline Sexton empathizes with the anguish parents feel when they have tried this medicine or that therapy, and nothing really seems to work. Her journey to finding root causes and effective interventions such as the Masgutova Methodâ of reflex integration has since helped her son realize significant developmental gains. As a New Jersey-based special needs sleep coach and owner of Tiny Transitions — an organization that supports a personalized approach to child health — Raline is passionate about educating other parents and professionals on ways to improve the quality of sleep in ASD individuals. Raline is a member of The Autism Community in Action (TACA), a nonprofit that provides education, support, and empowerment to families and individuals affected by autism. She also works with New Jersey and New York schools to support children with diverse needs.

The Masgutova Foundation is delighted to feature Raline as a guest speaker on “Sleep and Autism: Why it Matters and What You Can Do.”
