About the Event

Join Dr. Leah Light, Au.D., Core Specialist, MNRI and MGS Instructor, on March 25th from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm ET as she presents the details of how Integrated reflex development builds the foundation for healthy auditory processing and naturally supports language and speech growth.

The neurophysiological maturation/integration of reflexes affecting the auditory system facilitates language and speech development in infants, children, and adults. Reflex immaturity can delay and cause deficits in speech milestones and abstract thinking, interaction, and communication.

Reflex maturation is foundational to building the subcortical or so-called non-classical auditory pathway (non-lemniscal) -ascending from the brainstem to the prefrontal cortex. This is a multisensory pathway that transmits auditory, tactile, and visual stimuli. Chronologically, this pathway develops first.

The classical auditory pathway (lemniscal) following from the ear to the high brain (the temporal lobe) is supported by reflexes affecting the auditory system and the non-classic pathway. This is why it is crucial for help professionals and parents to address root-cause interventions using the auditory and core reflexes to facilitate auditory reception, processing, and natural language-speech development.

About the Speaker

Dr. Leah Light is the founder and director of the Brainchild Institute in Plantation, FL. With over 30 years of experience in neurodevelopment and auditory processing, Dr. Light is a certified Core Specialist in the Masgutova Method, focusing on retained primary reflexes that often underlie communicative and learning challenges. She holds advanced degrees in Audiology (Au.D., M.S.) and Special Education (B.A.) and is certified by both ASHA and the American Academy of Audiology. Her integrative audiology approach emphasizes treating the whole child—improving listening, attention, and learning through reflex and sensory integration.
