About the Event

We are in an epidemic in which about 40% of school-aged children and adolescents have at least one chronic health condition, such as asthma, diabetes, food allergies, other physical conditions, or behavioral and learning challenges.[1] Attempting to identify the contributing factors can be overwhelming amid the daily plight of managing a child’s healthcare needs. The modern, traditional approach to treating children with chronic health issues tends to be symptom-focused and singular, leaving parents and caregivers confused, frustrated, and searching elsewhere for meaningful solutions.

In this podcast, we explore how addressing underlying reasons through two foundational interventions – functional medicine and the Masgutova MethodÒ of reflex integration – can help reverse the epidemic and improve a child’s health and well-being.

We often hear about the importance of the gut-brain connection, but what does that really mean? What are reflexes, and how are they linked to neurodevelopment and gut-brain health? What if a child has trouble with feeding or eating healthy food in the first place? And how can a child’s behavior and mood improve through natural means?

More information passes between the brain and gut than any other body system. Working with reflexes – units of the central nervous system – and maintaining a healthy gut are essential components of optimizing whole-child health.

This podcast features Dr. Anju Usman Singh, M.D., FAAFP, ABIHM, Hom-C, and Dr. Svetlana Masgutova, Post-Ph.D. in Psychology and Founder and Creator of the Masgutova Method®.

In this podcast, you’ll learn:

  • The importance of an individualized biomedical approach for children with chronic health issues and neurodevelopmental disorders.
  • How reflex integration can help optimize a child’s immune system health and facilitate sensory-motor system function, and higher-level abilities, skills, and learning.
  • Key oral-facial-motor reflexes for feeding, digestion, immune health, and nervous system regulation.
  • The impact of neuroimmune inflammatory conditions on mood and behavior and interventions that can support positive changes.
  • Why functional medicine and reflex integration are effective root-cause approaches that can relieve gastrointestinal, neurological, inflammatory,  and emotional stress symptoms, and support health and well-being.
  • How to seek help.
